Abstract:
This research aims to study the phenomenon of fire in the forest, also known as burning, in the northeastern semiarid, specifically in the mesoregions of Sobral, Crateús, Juazeiro do Norte, Iguatu and Tauá, the capital Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará, correlating the focus of incidents with meteorological, temporal and cultural issues, covering the years 2015 to 2019. Using remote sensing technology to create the primary database, different techniques were applied in order to characterize the action of fire in the area mentioned, observing criteria of seasonality, climatic, meteorological and water aspects, as well as the culture of burning by the rural producer, and how this set of factors impacts on the quantity of registered fire occurrences. The main content analyzed is available at the National Institute for Space Research - INPE, which brings important and vast content on the subject, using data collection from remote sensing through the China-Brazil Earth-Resources Satellite - CBERS platform, in addition to of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellites - NOAA and Earth Observing System - EOS, of polar orbit and the stationary orbit Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite - GOES and METEOSAT satellites. Secondarily, data from the Integrated Coordination of Security Operations - CIOPS, linked to the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense - SSPDS of the Government of the State of Ceará, were obtained and analyzed, with records of forest fires, fires and forest fires arising from population calls, which are in perfect harmony with the data presented in the primary database, corroborating the research carried out. The pluviometric and meteorological analysis data in general were obtained through the Fundação Cearense de Meteorologia - FUNCEME, to form the time series of precipitation, drought and wind intensity. The results of the research pointed out that the period between the end of October, November and the beginning of December is historically the most affected by the phenomenon of forest fire, burning and forest fire, being the result of a set of factors that favor the ignition and propagation fire in that period. The beginning of the rainy pre-season, the end of the dry season, the dry vegetation, the greater intensity of the winds during the period and the cultural character of the backcountry in the cleaning of the land for the crop stand out, characteristics that proved to be sufficient to characterize the period cited as the most probable in the increase of fires, given the data presented by the INPE database. Furthermore, the delimitation of the period

with the greatest probability of occurrence of the phenomenon allows the adoption of public policies in order to mitigate the problem and consequently reduce the environmental impact caused.
