A RÉGUA DE CÁLCULO: UM INSTRUMENTO HISTÓRICO MEDIANDO O ENSINO E APRENDIZAGEM NA FORMAÇÃO DE DISCENTES DO CURSO DE LICENCIATURA PLENA EM MATEMÁTICA DA UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DO CEARÁ

Durante os séculos XVI e XVII a Europa estava em plena expansão mercantil, e existia a necessidade de um instrumento que pudesse ser utilizado, com precisão, para efetuar operações com números muito pequenos em pleno alto mar. A Régua de Cálculo, surgiu como um objeto para suprir está necessidade, sendo assim, capaz de realizar operações matemáticas, como por exemplo: soma; subtração; potenciação e radiciação, de uma forma prática e eficaz. Enxergamos por meio do uso e da construção deste instrumento mediar o ensino e aprendizagem na formação de discentes, com objetivo geral de identificar as possibilidades do uso deste instrumento histórico para o ensino de logaritmos. A partir disso, conhecer o uso de metodológico da régua de cálculo na formação do professor e descrever o um uso metodológico da Régua de Cálculo no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Dessa forma, aplicamos um curso de extensão para discentes do curso licenciatura plena em Matemática da Universidade Estadual do Ceará. Para a aplicação do curso, foi feito uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre o uso da História da Matemática, o ensino de logaritmos e a Régua de Cálculo. Posteriormente, dentro das referências encontradas selecionamos o material no qual permitisse que fizéssemos uma ligação entre História/Logaritmo/Ensino, para que pudéssemos formular um material didático que nos desse suporte na aplicação do curso de extensão. Com o material elaborado, aplicamos o curso de extensão. Após a aplicação do curso, fizemos uma análise minuciosa nos dados gerados a partir desta aplicação. Com isso, percebemos o papel que este recurso pode desempenhar no processo de ensino, por meio do seu uso e construção além de todos os aspectos históricos por trás deste instrumento. Percebemos, também, que por meio do processo de construção o aluno pode visualizar de forma prática, por meio de um material concreto, a definição e propriedades dos logaritmos.

Abstract:
During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Europe was in full commercial expansion, and there was a need for an instrument that could be used with precision to carry out operations with very small numbers on the high seas. The Slide Rule, has emerged as an object to supply this, and thus, capable of performing mathematical operations, such as: Sum; Subtraction; Potentiation and radiciation, in a practical and effective way. Hrough the use and construction of this instrument, we envisaged mediating teaching and learning in the training of students, with the general objective of identifying the possibilities of using this historical instrument for the teaching of logarithms. From this, to know the use of methodology of the revision in the formation of the teacher and to describe the one methodological method of the Slide Rule of the process of teaching by the learning.Thus, we apply an extension course for students of the graduation course in Mathematics of the State University of Ceará. For the application of the course, a bibliographical research was done on the use of the History of Mathematics, the teaching of logarithms and the Rule of Calculation. Subsequently, within the references found we select, the qualified material allowed us to make a link between history/logarithm/teaching, so that we could formulate a didactic material that would support us in the application of the extension course. With the material prepared, we apply the extension course. After a calculation application, we did a detailed analysis of the data generated from the application. With this, we perceive the role that this resource can play in the process of teaching and learning through the use, construction and all the historical aspects behind this instrument. In addition, we could perceive through the construction process or allow us to visualize in a practical way, through a concrete material, a definition and properties of the logarithms.
