EFEITOS SONOROS E LEGENDAGEM PARA SURDOS E ENSURDECIDOS: ANÁLISE E PROPOSTA DE TRADUÇÃO DO FILME

O som no cinema não é apenas acessório, ele conduz informação emocional, narrativa e metatextual. O som ajuda a criar expectativa e orienta a atenção do espectador para determinada cena e, por essa razão, a tradução de efeitos sonoros não pode se limitar a simples descrição. Esta pesquisa buscou analisar a legenda do filme brasileiro Nise, o coração da loucura (2016), disponível na plataforma da Netflix, com o objetivo de observar se a tradução dos efeitos sonoros segue os parâmetros técnicos para a Legendagem de Surdos e Ensurdecidos (LSE). A análise teve como base noções de estudos fílmicos, relacionadas à importância do som em uma obra fílmica, além das categorias de tipos de som propostas por Nascimento (2013): sons da natureza, sons causados por animais, sons causados pelo homem, sons ficcionais, sons causados por objetos, silêncio, instrumento musical, música de fosso, música de tela, música qualificada e música não qualificada. Os dados analisados foram obtidos por meio do software de análise linguística AntConc 3.5.7. Além da análise, foram apresentadas propostas de retradução para as legendas que não estavam de acordo com os parâmetros. A partir dos dados, observou-se que muitas legendas não seguiram alguns dos parâmetros técnicos recomendados pela Norma Brasileira (NBR) 15290, como o uso de colchetes e de legendas iniciadas por letra maiúscula, além do uso indiscriminado do gerúndio e da falta de identificação de falantes, problemas que podem prejudicar a compreensão por parte do espectador surdo. Em relação às legendas de música, percebeu-se que elas não foram traduzidas com o intuito de transmitir a emoção que a música intenciona atribuir à cena. Como propostas de retradução, baseadas nos preceitos teóricos aqui analisados, sugeriu-se a adoção de um padrão para as legendas quanto ao uso de inicial maiúscula, uso de colchetes e uso do gerúndio apenas em ações simultâneas a fala. Para as legendas de música, sugeriu-se o uso da palavra música acompanhada de um termo qualificador. Palavras-chave: Efeitos sonoros. Legendagem para surdos e ensurdecidos (LSE). Abstract:
Sound in the cinema is not only accessory, it drives emotional, narrative and metatextual information. Sound helps to create expectation and directs the attention of the viewer to a particular scene, and for this reason, the translation of sound effects cannot be limited to simple description. This research aimed to analyze the subtitle of the Brazilian film Nise, o coração da loucura (Nise, the heart of madness, 2016), available on the Netflix platform, in order to observe if the translation of the sound effects follows the technical parameters for the subtitling for the deaf and hard-ofhearing (SDH). The analysis was based on notions of film studies related to the importance of sound in a film work, besides the categories of types of sounds proposed by Nascimento (2013): nature sounds, animal sounds, sounds made by men, fictional sound, sounds made by object, silence, musical instrument, gap music, screen music, qualified music and non-qualified music. The analyzed data were obtained by means of the language analysis software, AntConc 3.5.7. In addition to the analysis, proposals for retranslation were presented for the subtitles that did not comply with the parameters. From the data, it was observed that many subtitles did not follow some of the technical parameters recommended by Brazilian Standard (NBR) 15290, such as the use of brackets and subtitles started with a capital letter, as well as the indiscriminate use of the gerund and lack of identification of speakers, problems that may impair understanding by the deaf viewer. Regarding the music subtitles, it was noticed that they were not translated in order to convey the emotion that the music intends to attribute to the scene. As a proposal for retranslation, based on the theoretical precepts analyzed here, it was suggested the adoption of a standard for subtitles regarding the use of capital letters, use of brackets and use of the gerund only in simultaneous speech actions. For music subtitles, it was suggested to use the word music together with a qualifying term. Keywords: Sound effects. Subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH). Audiovisual translation.
