RESUMO Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo examinar de que forma a dança serve de suporte para integração social, sendo institucionalizada por ONGs, que trabalham com crianças e jovens moradores dos bairros ditos periféricos. Para isso, a observação em campo ocorreu com o Grupo Bailarinos de Cristo Amor e Doações – BCAD, instituição social presente há duas décadas na periferia de Fortaleza. Esse projeto social tem como peculiaridade ter surgido inicialmente como uma escola de ballet popular, sem planejamento estrutural de ser uma organização não-governamental. Contudo, tornou-se uma ONG em meio às perspectivas institucionais e contexto nacional que fomentava a abrangência e participação da arte nas transformações políticas, econômicas e sociais. O trabalho empírico dialoga à luz das teorias sociológicas a partir da abordagem etnográfica. Os resultados permitiram constatar que o ensino da dança comporta uma dimensão moral como constituinte do processo educativo idealizado e a profissionalização como via “oportunizadora” para a integração social. Assim, simultaneamente combate e reforça o estigma dos jovens de periferia estabelecendo a retribuição e gratidão pela chance de mudança de vida, nas relações entre bailarinos e projeto social. Abstract:
ABSTRACT This present research aims to examine the ways that dancing could be used as a support for social integration, being institutionalized by NGOs that work with children and youth that live in suburb neighborhoods. For that goal, the field observations occurred with the Christ Dancers Love and Donation Group – BCAD, a social institution that exists in the suburbs of Fortaleza for two decades. This social project has as a peculiarity the fact that initially it was a normal ballet school, without any planning to become a Non-Governmental Organization. However, it became an NGO among the institutional perspectives and the national context that fostered the coverage and the participation of the arts in the policy, economic and social transformations. The empiric work of this paper dialogues with the sociological theories by using the ethnography approach. The results allowed us to observe that the teaching of dancing carries a moral dimension as part of the idealized educational process and the professionalization as a mean for social integration. Thus, it simultaneously fights and reinforces the suburb’s youth stigma, establishing the sense of retribution and gratitude for the opportunity of a life changing, in the relations of the dancers and the social project.
