In this works we are going to talk about the question of language with basis in the
text Sobre a linguagem em geral e sobre a linguagem do homem written by Walter
Benjamin in 1916. We developed our work from the fundamental relationship
between language and theologies in that author. Our objective is understand how is
the relationship between man’s language and divine’s language in the context of
“fragmentation” of that same language. The emergence of language is from the
creator word of God. He creates the world and the man from His own word. And He
gives to man the role of naming Creation. However, after the fall of Adam’s state, the
man had developed the judicial spirit what affects his own language, distancing
himself of naming language and given rise to the linguistic sign and the conceptual
abstraction, culminating, later, on the fragmentation of language. However, the
original language be alive like germ of language used by man. The purpose of
language would be communication with the divine. We conclude that, with his
metaphysics of language, Benjamin try related theologies and philosophy, faith and
reason from the Judeo-Cristian believe.
Key-words: Original language. Creation. Judicial spirt. Sign. Naming language.
