SEGUNDA VÍTIMA NO CONTEXTO HOSPITALAR

Resumo:
A segurança do paciente é um assunto cada vez mais abordado na literatura e nos serviços de saúde, e,no contexto dessa temática, observou-se a necessidade de investigar o papel e os sentimentos da segunda vítima (o trabalhador envolvido na ocorrência do evento adverso). Desta forma, este estudo teve como objetivo analisar o impacto do evento adverso para segunda vítima no contexto hospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo bibliográfico, com base no método da revisão integrativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2019, com busca nas bases de dados MedLine, IBECS, LILACS e na biblioteca virtual Scielo. Incluíram-se artigos originais, completos, sem delimitação do período de publicação, nas línguas inglês, português ou espanhol. Excluíram-se as duplicidades e artigos que abordavam o conceito “segunda vítima” na perspectiva das vítimas de violência sexual. O número de artigos que atenderam os critérios de inclusão e que compuseram a amostra foi de 18. Após a seleção dos artigos, foram analisados e reunidos em categorias temáticas: 1. A segunda vítima e os sentimentos despertados após o envolvimento em incidentes; 2. Intervenções inadequadas à segunda vítima; 3. Estratégias de suporte oferecidas para a segunda vítima. Após a análise dos artigos observou-se que o assunto segunda vítima ainda é pouco abordado pela literatura, concentrando-se em periódicos internacionais e com publicações nos últimos 5 anos. O profissional que se envolve em incidentes com o paciente desperta diversos sentimentos durante e após a ocorrência de tais eventos indesejáveis, podendo durar semanas, meses e até anos, ocasionando prejuízos para a vida profissional, pessoal, social e espiritual. Para isso, a assistência fornecida pela instituição e pelos colegas de trabalho à segunda vítima é fundamental, contribuindo para a sua recuperação nessa fase. O estudo traz contribuições para a prática clínica e o ensino, uma vez que desperta o conhecimento sobre a temática, podendo impactar na formação de melhores profissionais. Abstract:
Patient safety is an issue increasingly addressed in the literature and health services, and in the context of this theme, it is necessary to investigate the role and feelings of the second victim (the worker involved in the occurrence of the adverse event)). , this study aimed to analyze the impact of the adverse event for the second victim in the hospital context. This is a bibliographic study, based on the integrativ e review method. Data collection was performed in September and October 2019, searching the MedLine, IBECS, LILACS databases and Scielo virtual library. Include original, complete articles, without delimitation of the period of publication, in English, Portuguese or Spanish. Duplicates and articles that address the concept of "second victim" from the perspective of victims of sexual violence are excluded. The number of articles that met the inclusion criteria and composed a sample was 18. 18. After the selection of articles, analyzed and grouped into thematic categories: 1. The second victim and the feelings aroused after the incident; 2. Inadequate interventions to the second victim; 3. Support strategies offered to a second victim. After an analysis of the authorized articles, the subject of the second victim is still little addressed in the literature, focusing on international journals and publications in the last 5 years. The professional that involves incidents with the patient who suffers from various feelings during and after the occurrence of undesirable events can last weeks, months and even years, causing damage to professional, personal, social and spiritual life. To this end, financial assistance by the institution and co-workers in the second victim are critical, contributing to their recovery at this stage. The study brings contributions to clinical practice and teaching, since it is necessary to awaken the knowledge on the subjectand may impact on the training of the best professionals.
