Resumo:
Todas as trajetórias individuais suscitam questões, umas mais do que outras. Nesse caso, a vida de Thomaz Pompeu de Sousa Brasil, homem público e de grande influência políticaintelectual na província do Ceará na virada da primeira para a segunda metade do século XIX, é o sujeito em questão. A fim de investigar tanto sua vida como o contexto social político em que essa se desenvolve, é que elencamos suas práticas político-discursiva e suas ações ao longo de seus trabalhos como político e intelectual que, escolheu, demandou e se autoprojetou no Ceará provincial. Intentando assim articular vida e contexto durante o período que vai de 1845 – retorno de seus estudo em Olinda – até sua morte em 1877, investigando esse tempo histórico, marcadamente político-partidário, e em que muitas das questões eram resolvidas através da violência, da política do favor e das relações de compadrio, estabelecendo então um elo entre sua trajetória política/intelectual e seu contexto de atuação/projeção. Tendo na abordagem biográfica o chão teórico-metodológico para a escrita dessa narrativa histórica. Focalizando na singularidade do sujeito, este, na sua relação inexorável com os acontecimentos e transpassado por suas múltiplas e diversas narrativas. Palavras-chave: Thomaz Pompeu. Biografia. Abstract:
All individual trajectories raise questions, some more than others. In this case, the life of Thomaz Pompeu de Sousa Brasil, a public man of great political and intellectual influence in the province of Ceará from the first to the second half of the nineteenth century, is the subject in question. In order to investigate both his life and the political social context in which it develops, it is that we list his political-discursive practices and his actions throughout his work as a politician and intellectual that he chose, demanded and self-projected in Ceará provincial. In this way, in order to articulate life and context during the period from 1845 - returning from his studies in Olinda - until his death in 1877, investigating this historical time, markedly political-party, and in which many of the issues were solved through violence, politics of favor and relations of compadrio, establishing then a link between its political / intellectual trajectory and its context of actuation / projection. Having in the biographical approach the theoretical-methodological ground for the writing of this historical narrative. Focusing on the singularity of the subject, this, in its inexorable relation with the events and pierced by its multiple and diverse narratives. Keywords: Thomaz Pompeu. Biography.
