VIOLÊNCIA IMPETRADA POR PROFESSORES E FUNCIONÁRIOS DAS ESCOLAS PÚBLICAS A ESTUDANTES

A escola é percebida socialmente pela comunidade como uma das instituições responsáveis pela socialização, desenvolvimento cognitivo, físico e psicológico da criança e do adolescente. No ambiente escolar, os professores e funcionários exercem a principal missão, considerando-se ser os profissionais que têm o maior e mais intenso contato com crianças e adolescentes. Há poucos estudos científicos sobre a violência cometida a estudantes por funcionários e professores das escolas. Nesta tese, entende-se que este fenômeno se insere no conceito de maus-tratos infantis, em que um adulto que teria responsabilidade de cuidar comete agressões, mas também no conceito de violência escolar, sendo em parte resultado das interações que se estabelecem entre os diversos personagens escolares. Assim, essa tese elaborou três estudos sobre a violência cometida a alunos por funcionários de escola apoiada em diversas metodologias. Primeiro, foi desenvolvida uma revisão sistemática de literatura nacional e internacional sobre violência de professores e funcionários contra estudantes. Identificou-se que há um número reduzido de estudos desse tipo de violência, ocorrendo principalmente em países de médio e alto índice de desenvolvimento humano. O estudo empregou-se em sua maioria questionários para a coleta de dados, havendo 23 instrumentos, porém nenhum era específico para aferir violência por funcionário (VPF). O segundo estudo faz análises das características psicométricas de um instrumento que busca compor um escore quanto à violência cometida por professores e funcionários contra estudantes. Este estudo evidenciou três fatores: violência explícita, disfarçada por práticas escolares e negligência os quais explicaram 57,9% da variância, e notou-se uma consistência interna ótima 0.85 para cada um destes. E, por fim, foi desenvolvido um estudo de regressão logística que indicou que a violência por parte de funcionário é explicada pelos fatores Vitimização e Autoria (maiores níveis de vitimização e autoria implicam maior frequência de violência por parte do professor). Os resultados da tese evidenciaram que é essencial que a temática da VPF seja debatida entre profissionais de saúde, educação e sociedade, uma vez que é um fenômeno pouco reconhecido, pouco estudado, mas que ocorre, causa um impacto negativo de acordo com as vítimas e se associa ao importante problema do bullying. Abstract:
The school is socially perceived by the community as one of the institutions responsible for the socialization, cognitive, physical and psychological development of children and adolescents. In the school environment, teachers and staff perform the main mission, considering that they are the professionals who have the greatest and most intense contact with children and adolescents. There are few scientific studies on student violence by school staff and teachers. In this thesis, it is understood that this phenomenon is inserted in the concept of child maltreatment, in which an adult who would be responsible for children caring commits aggression, but also in the concept of school violence, being in part a result of the interactions established between the children with various school characters. Thus, this thesis elaborated three studies about the violence committed to students by school staff supported by several methodologies. First, a systematic review of national and international literature on teacher and staff violence against students was developed. It was identified that there are a small number of studies of this type of violence, occurring mainly in countries of medium and high index of human development. The study used mostly questionnaires for data collection, with 23 instruments, but none was specific to assess violence per employee (VPE). The second study analyzes the psychometric characteristics of an instrument that seeks to compose a score for the violence committed by teachers and staff against students. This study showed three factors: explicit violence, disguised by school practices and neglect, which explained 57.9% of the variance, and an optimal internal consistency of 0.85 was noted for each of these. Finally, a logistic regression study was developed that indicated that employee violence is explained by the factors Victimization and Authorship (higher levels of victimization and authorship imply greater frequency of violence by the teacher). The results of the thesis showed that it is essential that the issue of VPE be debated among health professionals, education and society, since it is a phenomenon little recognized, little studied, but that occurs, has a negative impact according to the victims and is associated with the important problem of bullying.
