Nos últimos anos, com o crescimento de uma onda mais conservadora na Câmara Federal, principalmente com a atuação dos deputados da chamada bancada evangélica atuando diretamente contrários aos avanços das “pautas progressistas” é um tema que tem despertado o interesse de pesquisadores da ciência política e das políticas públicas no Brasil. Assim como, outra temática crescente no âmbito acadêmico são os estudos relacionados às elites parlamentares. Deste modo, o presente trabalho busca contribuir para esses debates, analisando, no âmbito da Câmara dos Deputados, a influência da bancada evangélica, seu crescimento e estabelecendo o perfil desta bancada. Além disso, analisamos se esta bancada evangélica pode ser considerada uma elite parlamentar. Para tanto, a dissertação analisa primeiramente a relação do Estado com a religião, a morfologia desta bancada e três fatores que podem demonstrar a influência da bancada como elite parlamentar: a presença de evangélicos na lista de deputados mais influentes do Congresso realizada pelo Departamento Intersindical de Assessoria Parlamentar (DIAP), a presença de deputados evangélicos na Mesa Diretora da Câmara e a presença de parlamentares evangélicos na presidência das comissões permanentes da Casa.

In recent years, with the growth of a more conservative wave in the Federal Chamber, especially with the performance of the members of the so-called evangelical bench acting directly against the advances of the "progressive agenda" is a theme that has aroused the interest of researchers of political science and of public policies in Brazil. As well, another growing theme in the academic field are the studies related to the parliamentary elites. Thus, the present work seeks to contribute to these debates by analyzing, within the Chamber of Deputies, the influence of the evangelical bench, its growth and establishing the profile of this bench. In addition, we analyzed whether this evangelical bench can be considered a parliamentary elite. To this end, the dissertation first analyzes the relationship of the state with religion, the morphology of this bench and three factors that can demonstrate the influence of the bench as a parliamentary elite: the presence of evangelicals in the list of most influential congressional deputies by the Intersindical Department of Parliamentary Advisory (DIAP), the presence of evangelical deputies in the Board of Directors of the House and the presence of evangelical parliamentarians in the presidency of the permanent committees of the House.
