DO TERREIRO AO MAR: A ANTROPOLOGIA DA PEREGRINAÇÃO DA FESTA DE IEMANJÁ EM FORTALEZA

O intento deste estudo é compreender a Festa de Iemanjá de Fortaleza como um cenário de afirmação étnico-religiosa, em percurso por mais de 50 anos, averiguando a relevância da crescente presença da Umbanda no campo religioso local e as decorrentes relações amistosas (e não amistosas) com grupos, entidades religiosas e o Estado, através de suas peregrinações rumo ao mar para celebrar a Deusa do Mar, Iemanjá. Além disso, visa problematizar os processos, percursos e rituais que os terreiros de Umbanda cearense realizam para peregrinar de seus locais de origem rumo à Praia do Futuro, identificando, desta forma, as singularidades da Festa de Iemanjá de Fortaleza. Trata-se, pois, de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de abordagem etnográfica que usou como instrumento de construção dos dados a observação participante e o uso da fotografia para construir narrativas da antropologia visual. O estudo permitiu realizar uma “etnografia da peregrinação”. Para além da festa em si, analisou-se o trânsito dos adeptos antes do evento, os elementos preparatórios e os ritos preliminares. As observações, as anotações em caderneta de campo, os registros imagéticos em foto e vídeo e as interlocuções concedidas pelos colaboradores da pesquisa: Mãe Tecla de Oxóssi, Mãe Mocinha de Oyá e Mãe Taquinha de Oyá, revelam um entendimento mais conciso a respeito das concepções das práticas religiosas e do movimento religioso da Umbanda na cidade de Fortaleza. Os resultados apresentados nesta pesquisa descrevem alguns detalhes, falas e situações, e a peregrinação específica de cada uma das interlocutoras da pesquisa. Deste modo, as peregrinações religiosa, política e biográfica se situam no estudo enquanto elementos de tradição da Umbanda em Fortaleza e, sobretudo, enquanto momento em que a Umbanda está personificada na figura de três mulheres que protagonizam a Festa de Iemanjá de Fortaleza. Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to understand Fortaleza's Iemanjá Festival as a scenario of ethnic-religious affirmation, which has been going on for over 50 years, investigating the relevance of the growing presence of Umbanda in the local religious field and the resulting friendly relations (and not friendly groups) with groups, religious entities and the state through their pilgrimages to the sea to celebrate the Goddess of the Sea, Iemanjá. Discussing the processes, paths and rituals that the Umbanda cearense terreiros perform to pilgrimage from their places of origin to Praia do Futuro. Identifying, in this way, the singularities of the Iemanjá Festival of Fortaleza. It is, therefore, a qualitative research, ethnographic approach that used as instrument of data construction participant observation and the use of photography to construct narratives of visual anthropology. The study allowed itself to perform an “pilgrimage ethnography”. In addition to the party itself, I analyze the traffic of the fans before the event, the preparatory elements and the preliminary rites. Observations, field notebook annotations, photo and video imagery records, and interlocutions given by the research contributors: Mãe Tecla de Oxóssi, Mocinha de Oyá Mother and Mãe Taquinha de Oyá reveal a more concise understanding of the concepts of religious practices and the religious movement of Umbanda in the city of Fortaleza. The results presented in this research describe some details, speeches and situations and the specific pilgrimage of each of the research interlocutors. Thus, the religious, political and biographical pilgrimage are situated in the study as elements of the Umbanda tradition in Fortaleza and, above all, as the moment that the Umbanda personified in the figure of three women who star in the Fortaleza Iemanjá Festival.
