O GESTOR DE PROJETOS E O PRÍNCIPE DE NICOLAU MAQUIAVEL

Resumo:
O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar os conselhos e lições que Nicolau Maquiavel oferece em seu livro o Príncipe e correlacioná-los com o gestor de projetos. Acredita-se que existem príncipios apresentados na obra “O Príncipe” que contribuem e possuem uma correlação fundamental, não estabelecida anteriormente, com o gerente de projetos. Para isto, pretende-se analisar e levantar princípios existentes na obra de Maquiavel que são atemporais e possam ser aplicados no mundo corporativo atual, especificamente no que condiz a atuação do gerente de projetos conforme apresentado no Guia PMBOK. Apresentar os conceitos de projetos, gerenciamento de projetos, o Guia PMBOK e as habilidades interpessoais do gerente de projetos traçando-se assim o panorama atual em que atua o gestor de projetos. E, portanto, comparar os princípios e lições de Maquiavel ao príncipe com o gestor de projetos. A análise foi elaborada por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, utilizando-se de dois livros como base principal: o PMBOK 5ª edição e o Livro “O Príncipe” de Nicolau Maquiavel. Além disso, bibliografia relacionada à área de gestão de projetos e habilidades interpessoais, juntamente com informações disponíveis em websites especializados no assunto. Como resultado desta análise, observou-se que existem dezesseis lições de Maquiavel como por exemplo ensinamentos relacionados a: Virtú e a Fortuna, a gestão de pessoas, a importância de se observar o caminho trilhado por outros líderes, a importância do conhecimento e da busca pelo mesmo, a flexibilidade e a versatilidade do gestor, a adequação do estilo de liderança a situação enfrentada e dez outras lições do Príncipe ao gestor, concluindo-se assim a existência da possibilidade de comparação entre o príncipe de Maquiavel e o gerente de projetos.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to compare the project manager presented in the PMBOK Guide and correlate them with the expertise required of the prince in The Prince of Niccolo Machiavelli. It is believed that there are principles presented in the book "The Prince" that contribute and have a fundamental correlation, not established previously, with the project manager. For this, we intend to analyze and raise existing principles in the work of Machiavelli that are timeless and can be applied in today's corporate world specifically regarding the project manager's performance as presented in the PMBOK Guide. To present the concepts of projects, project management, the PMBOK guide and the interpersonal skills of the project manager, providing the actual panorama that the project manager works. Compare the principles and lessons of Machiavelli to the prince with the project manager. The analysis was performed by means of literature, using two books as the primary basis: the PMBOK 5th edition and the book "The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli. In addition, literature related to the project management area and interpersonal skills, along with information available in specialized websites on the subject. As a result of this analysis, it was observed that there are sixteen lessons of Machiavelli such as teachings related to: Virtu and Fortuna, people management, the importance of observing the path taken by other leaders, the importance of knowledge and searching for it, flexibility and versatility of the manager, the adequacy of the leadership style when facing different situations and ten other lessons of the Prince to the manager, concluding thus the existence of the possibility of comparing the Prince of Machiavelli and the project manager.
