Abstract:
The present study aims to identify the available evidence in the literature about the discontinuity of care related to the prevention of cervical cancer. This is an integrative review, carried out in the bireme portal, including the databases MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF, CENTRAL-Registry of controlled clinical trials, LILACS, HTA-Evaluation of Technologies in Health, IBECS, Colecciona SUS (Brazil). A total of 101 studies were found, of which 85 did not address the theme of the study, 4 were repeated, finalizing the sample composed by 12 articles. Of the total, 10 articles were written in the English language, highlighting the scarcity of Brazilian studies and the significant participation of nurses in the authors. The studies showed that women between 25 and 34 years of age, married, with schooling over 9 years of schooling and who had access to health services with better recruitment conditions, had greater adherence to the preventive examination. The economic, educational, age, health habits and number of children directly influence the maintenance of adequate periodicity and adherence to the examination. The accomplishment of this study contributed to signal some factors that interfere in the prevention of CCU. Guidance to women, enabling them to understand the importance of CCU prevention, greater professional-patient interaction, and operationalization of the service would be useful levers for overcoming discontinuity in the early detection of CCU. The reorientation of health services with a focus on the health promotion of these women is an urgent and necessary thing, since the greater adherence to the examination, with the consequent reduction of the CCU morbidity and mortality indicators, will only be achieved when women obtain adequate information Regarding the preventive examination.
