O TEOREMA DE PITÁGORAS: DEMONSTRAÇÕES E APLICAÇÕES

Resumo:
Essa dissertação tem como principal objetivo concentrar, em um único texto, a história e o conhecimento de um assunto inicialmente explorado na educação de base das escolas: O Teorema de Pitágoras. A falta do domínio desse assunto gera carências que serão refletidas em deficiência de aprendizagem futura, haja vista que o objeto de estudo em questão, é a base para compreensão de muitos conteúdos matemáticos do Ensino Médio, tais como Trigonometria, Geometria Analítica, Geometria Plana e Espacial ou Volumétrica. Essa falta de intimidade do aluno da educação básica com o Teorema de Pitágoras é tamanha, que o simples enunciado do mesmo já é motivo para dúvidas e incertezas. O trabalho aborda um pequeno relato histórico da vida do personagem que produziu, ou ajudou a produzir, o conhecimento matemático que envolve o Teorema. Nesse relato, é abordado um pouco da vida de Pitágoras, com o objetivo de responder às curiosidades do tipo: Quem foi? Onde viveu? O que fazia? Informações que humanizam a produção desse conhecimento que dispomos hoje, ou seja, saber que tipo de ser humano esteve por trás desse teorema milenar. A outra parte do trabalho tem como objetivo fornecer uma fundamentação teórica, por meio de algumas demonstrações e aplicações do Teorema de Pitágoras, para que essa poderosa ferramenta matemática seja usada com uma melhor proficiência, ajudando de fato à compreensão de assuntos mais complexos. Este texto não é destinado apenas aos alunos da educação de base, como também, não é somente destinado aos professores que exercem o ofício do magistério e não têm a chance de se capacitarem melhor. Este texto é destinado a todos aqueles que, por alguma razão, nunca perderam o fascínio pela rainha das ciências. Na fundamentação teórica do Teorema de Pitágoras houve a preocupação de apresentar questões do ENEM que abordam este conhecimento, objetivando evidenciar que essa teoria pode perfeitamente ser levada para o nosso dia-a-dia, despertando um maior interesse dos alunos que veem a matemática apenas como um conteúdo estritamente científico e chato, ou seja, desconexo da realidade.

Abstract:
This work has as main objective to focus on a single text, history and knowledge of a subject initially explored in basic education, the Pythagorean Theorem. The lack of mastery of this subject generates shortages that will be reflected in future learning disabilities, given that the subject matter in question is the basis for understanding many high school mathematical content, such as Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry, Plane Geometry and Spatial or Volumetric. This lack of intimacy student’s basic education in public schools with the Pythagorean Theorem is such that the mere utterance of it is reason for doubt and uncertainty. The paper addresses a small historical account of the life of the character that produced or helped produce, mathematical knowledge which involves Theorem. In this report, we discussed about the life of Pythagoras, in order to answer trivia like: Who was? Where to live? What did he do? Information that humanize the production of this knowledge we have today, ie., what kind of human being was behind this ancient theorem. The other part of the paper aims to provide a theoretical basis, through some demonstrations and applications of the Pythagorean Theorem, that this powerful mathematical tool to be used with better proficiency, actually helping the understanding of more complex issues. This text is not meant only for students of basic education, as well, not only for teachers engaged in the craft of teaching and not have the chance to empower better. This text is aimed at all those who, for some reason, never lost their fascination with the queen of the sciences. In the theoretical foundation of the Pythagorean Theorem were concerned to submit questions ENEM addressing this knowledge, objective evidence that this theory may well be taken to our day-to-day, arousing greater interest of the students who see mathematics as just a content strictly scientific and boring, i.e. disconnected from reality.
