The objective of this study was to analyze the experience about the teaching and
learning process, experienced by students in distance courses offered by the National
Policy of Permanent Education. It is an exploratory research based on the Post-
Graduation Courses lato sensu de Micropolítica da Gestão e Trabalho em Saúde
Emphasis on State Management of the Unified Health System and the Patient Safety
Course. For data collection, a questionnaire was sent via online form (google forms),
whose answers were analyzed by descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis,
having fulfilled all legal aspects and with approval in the Ethics Committee of the State
University of Ceará . For the results, 127 questionnaires were considered, with the
majority of female students, aged between 30-39 years, married or with stable union,
training and professional experience greater than 7 years, and in relation to the training
of the Public Safety Course of the patient did not present the same progression in the
continuity of the training as those of the Course of Micropolitics of Management and
Work in Health. Considering the experience of the formation through the EaD it was
mentioned as difficulty the organization of the time for the accomplishment of the
activities, about the content of the course participants evaluated in a positive way, but
while the concluding ones pointed to the virtual platform and tutorial follow-up as
satisfactory, the dropping students scored a lower evaluation. Participants described
the positive aspects of the use of EDA as flexibility of schedules, democratization of
access as positive elements, but they highlighted the difficulties or challenges with
technological ability, as well as the existence of few meetings and approximation
between students and tutors. About the courses, the participants mention that there is
a need to increase the number of face-to-face meetings, improve the logistics and
support of the pedagogical team to solve bureaucratic problems. It is noteworthy that
both courses produced positive impacts in the workspaces. It is considered that
distance education, combined with permanent education processes tends to reach a
greater number of professionals, promote integration, share experiences, positively
impact the daily life of these professionals, producing new ways of doing health and
improving care provided .
