TURISMO NO POLO DOS LENÇÓIS MARANHENSES: INDÍCIOS DE (IN)SUSTENTABILIDADE EM EMPREENDIMENTOS HOTELEIROS DO MUNICÍPIO DE BARREIRINHAS/MA

Resumo:
Esta pesquisa teve como objeto de estudo os empreendimentos hoteleiros do município de Barreirinhas/MA. Sendo a hotelaria, um dos componentes da oferta turística, desempenhando papel importante no turismo do polo dos Lençóis, torna-se relevante analisar a aplicabilidade de princípios de sustentabilidade em empreendimentos hoteleiros em Barreirinhas. O município tem o turismo como a principal atividade, o que acarreta impactos sociais e ambientais, representados pelo crescimento das edificações, algumas em locais impróprios, atrelado à especulação imobiliária e descompasso entre as realidades social e ambiental na região. O Maranhão tem buscado o desenvolvimento por meio do turismo, conseguindo estruturar o território em polos turísticos, sendo o polo dos Lençóis o principal por ser o mais demandado desencadeou aumento da oferta de bens e serviços no município. Este estudo considera a importância dos princípios de sustentabilidade aplicados aos meios de hospedagem para que o desenvolvimento da atividade turística engendre benefícios perenes para essa região. Deste modo o objetivo é compreender a relação entre o turismo no polo dos Lençóis Maranhenses e os indícios de sustentabilidade em empreendimentos hoteleiros do município de Barreirinhas. Foi utilizado o método dialético com análise de dados quanti-qualitativa. Realizou-se revisão de literatura, para aprofundamento teórico-metodológico. Determinou-se no universo de 45 (quarenta e cinco) meios de hospedagem do município uma amostra de 20 (vinte) empreendimentos hoteleiros, cuja coleta de dados se deu por meio de aplicação de entrevista e questionário composto de perguntas abertas e fechadas, sendo elaborado a partir dos requisitos de sustentabilidade dispostos na Norma de Sistemas de Gestão da Sustentabilidade em Meios de Hospedagem - ABNT NBR 15401:2014, no Guia de “Turismo e Sustentabilidade” e no SBClass – Sistema de Classificação de Meios de Hospedagem. Tal instrumento foi direcionado aos sujeitos dos meios de hospedagem, gestão pública e comunidade, cujo período de aplicação ocorreu entre os meses de abril a setembro de 2016. Assim, os resultados revelaram que o arquétipo da sustentabilidade nos meios de hospedagem encontra-se parcialmente difundido pelas gestões e operacionalizações, apresentando nível de desempenho e implementação dos princípios sustentáveis relativamente em conformidade e em alguns casos insatisfatório, significando que a questão da certificação ambiental nos 10 meios de hospedagem do município de Barreirinhas ainda está distante de ser alcançada de forma plena. Por fim conclui-se que a proposição da sustentabilidade em meios de hospedagem precisa transcender a rotulação “sustentável”, pois deve apresentar transformação de uma dada realidade socioeconômica, ambiental e cultural de determinado território a partir da atuação efetiva de todos os sujeitos do turismo, sendo que o conjunto de princípios engendrados para guiar os esforços à sustentabilidade tem possibilitado a elaboração de critérios diferenciados para gerenciamento do desempenho de práticas sustentáveis nas organizações hoteleiras. Abstract:
This research had as object of study the hotel developments of the municipality of Barreirinhas/MA. Being the hotel industry, one of the components of the tourism offer, playing an important role in the tourism of the Lençóis polo, it becomes relevant to analyze the applicability of sustainability principles in hotel developments in Barreirinhas. The municipality has tourism as the main activity which entails social and environmental impacts, represented by the growth of buildings, some in inappropriate places, coupled with real estate speculation and mismatch between social and environmental realities in the region. Maranhão has sought development through tourism, managing to structure the territory in tourist poles, being the center of the Lençóis the main one for being the most demanded triggered an increase of the supply of goods and services in the municipality. This study considers the importance of the principles of sustainability applied to the means of lodging so that the development of the tourist activity generates perennial benefits for this region. In this way the objective is to understand the relationship between tourism in the Lençois Maranhenses area and the sustainability indicators in hotel developments in the municipality of Barreirinhas. The dialectical method was used with quantitative-qualitative data analysis. A review of the literature was carried out, for theoretical-methodological deepening. A sample of 20 (twenty) hotel developments was determined in the universe of 45 (forty-five) lodging facilities of the municipality, whose data collection was done through an interview application and a questionnaire composed of open and closed questions, being elaborated Based on the sustainability requirements set forth in the Sustainability Management Systems Standard in Means of Hosting - ABNT NBR 15401: 2014, in the Guide to "Tourism and Sustainability" and SBClass - System of Classification of Means of Lodging. Such instrument was directed to the subjects of the means of lodging, public management and community, whose period of application occurred between the months of April to September of 2016. Thus, the results revealed that the archetype of sustainability in the means of lodging is partially diffused By the level of performance and implementation of the sustainable principles that are relatively compliant and in some cases unsatisfactory, meaning that the issue of environmental certification in the means of accommodation of the municipality of Barreirinhas is still far from being fully achieved. Finally, it is concluded that the proposal of sustainability 12 in means of lodging needs to transcend the labeling "sustainable", since it must present a transformation of a given socioeconomic, environmental and cultural reality of a given territory, based on the effective performance of all tourism subjects, And the set of principles designed to guide efforts towards sustainability has made it possible to develop differentiated criteria for managing the performance of sustainable practices in hotel organizations.
