PLANTAS MEDICINAIS DE CAATINGA: CONHECIMENTOS ETNOBOTÂNICOS EM ESCOLAS ESTADUAIS DO MUNICÍPIO DE RUSSAS NO CEARÁ

Resumo:
Muitas espécies de Caatinga apresentam um poderoso valor medicinal. Ainda assim, vários de seus benefícios são desconhecidos. Essa falta de conhecimento deve-se principalmente à redução da disseminação dos conhecimentos populares que geralmente são repassados de forma oral de geração para geração. Tendo em vista a grande importância da perpetuação dessas informações, vê-se a escola como ambiente propício para disseminação desses conhecimentos, destacando-se também o estudo das plantas medicinais como aliado na compreensão dos conteúdos de botânica. Porém, antes de trabalhar estes conteúdos na escola, é importante entender qual o conhecimento dos alunos sobre este assunto. Dessa forma, o presente estudo objetivou analisar os conhecimentos etnobotânicos sobre plantas medicinais de Caatinga entre os alunos do Ensino Médio das escolas estaduais da sede do Município de Russas-CE. Esta se configura como uma pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva e exploratória sobre o uso de plantas medicinais. Para tal, foi aplicado um questionário como meio de coleta dos dados. A pesquisa foi realizada com alunos de 2ª série, tendo em vista ser este o ano em que são trabalhados os conteúdos de botânica. A amostra total de alunos é 276, valor este obtido a partir das frequências por sala, pois há alunos remanejados, desistentes e faltosos, sendo 162 alunos da Escola A e 114 alunos da Escola B. Os resultados mostram que os alunos de ambas as escolas possuem pouco conhecimento sobre as plantas medicinais de Caatinga, bem como desconhecem as finalidades fitoterapêuticas dessas plantas. O saber popular está aos poucos sendo ameaçado devido a pouca disseminação desse conhecimento das pessoas mais velhas para com os jovens e outro motivo é o desinteresse da nova geração em cultivar o saber popular sobre as plantas medicinais. Considera-se que esse projeto contribui para o ensino de botânica com ênfase nos conhecimentos da relação do homem com a flora medicinal de Caatinga, ao se tratar das plantas nativas desse domínio. Também incentiva os professores de Ciências Biológicas a colaborarem com uma educação voltada aos saberes do cotidiano, que rodeiam a vida e a cultura de seus alunos contribuindo para a conservação e preservação dos recursos naturais da Caatinga. Abstract:
Many species of Caatinga have a powerful medicinal value. Still, many of its benefits are unknown. This lack of knowledge is mainly due to the reduction of the dissemination of popular knowledge, which is generally passed on from generation to generation. Considering the great importance of the perpetuation of this information, it is possible to see the school as a propitious environment for the dissemination of this knowledge, as well as the study of medicinal plants as an ally in the understanding of the contents of botany. However, before working on these contents in school, it is important to understand the level of knowledge of students on this subject. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the ethnobotanical knowledge on medicinal plants of the Caatinga among the high school students of the State Schools of the Municipality of Russas-CE. This is configured as a quantitative and descriptive study on the use of medicinal plants. For that, a questionnaire was applied as a means of data collection. The research was carried out with students of end grade, considering that this is the year in which the botanical contents are worked. The total sample of students is 276, a value obtained from the frequencies per room, since there are students who are re-assigned, dropping out and absent, with 162 students from School A and 114 students from School B. The results show that students from both schools have little knowledge about the medicinal plants of Caatinga, as well as they are unaware of the phototherapeutics purposes of these plants. Popular knowledge is gradually being threatened due to the scarce dissemination of this millennial traditional knowledge of older people to young people, and another reason is the lack of interest of the new generation in cultivating it. It is considered that this project contributes to the teaching of botany with emphasis on the knowledge of the relationship between man and the medicinal flora of Caatinga, when dealing with the native plants of this domain. It also encourages teachers of Biological Sciences to collaborate with an education focused on everyday knowledge that surrounds the life and culture of its students, contributing to the conservation and preservation of the natural resources of the Caatinga.
