A História da Matemática é inspiradora e contextualiza todo o conhecimento matemático que temos hoje, por isso ela deve ser usada no ensino dessa disciplina. Nesse trabalho temos como foco o ensino de Geometria mostrando como povos desenvolveram esse conhecimento através dos tempos. O conhecimento geométrico começou de modo empírico o qual solucionava problemas particulares de determinada época, depois se desenvolveu uma geometria mais abstrata em que a argumentação lógica era a base, a partir de determinados censos comuns se geravam novos conhecimentos que durante muito tempo foi privilegio de poucos, mas as revoluções sociais sempre lutaram para que todos tivessem direito a educação. Os alunos do Ensino Médio apresentam dificuldades na aprendizagem de Matemática e uma deficiência nos conceitos geométricos. Assim começamos esse trabalho com uma retrospectiva histórica sobre o ensino médio no Brasil, bem como o ensino de Matemática. Para a avaliação sobre esse ensino foram usadas algumas avaliações como PISA, Saeb e SPAECE essas avaliações mostram o perfil dos alunos em Matemática em nível nacional, estadual ou municipal, assim para verificar o nível dos alunos em Geometria de uma determinada escola de Fortaleza-CE a qual sou professor a oito anos, foi realizada uma pesquisa por amostragem com os alunos que se voluntariaram para mostrar o nível desses com relação aos seus conhecimentos geométricos, assim identificar suas dificuldades e depois procurar soluções para tentar melhorar seu aprendizado.

Abstract:
The History of Mathematics is inspiring and contextualizes all the mathematical knowledge we have today, so it must be used in teaching this discipline. In this work we focus on the teaching of Geometry showing how people have developed this knowledge through time. The geometric knowledge began in an empirical way which solved particular problems of a given epoch, then developed a more abstract geometry in which the logical argument was the base, from certain common censuses were generated new knowledge that for a long time was the privilege of few , but social revolutions always fought for everyone to have the right to education. High school students present difficulties in learning mathematics and a deficiency in geometric concepts. Thus we began this work with a historical retrospective about high school in Brazil, as well as the teaching of Mathematics. Some evaluations such as PISA, Saeb and SPAECE were used to evaluate this teaching. These evaluations show the profile of the students in Mathematics at national, state or municipal level, thus to verify the level of the students in Geometry of a certain school in Fortaleza-CE which I teach for eight years, a sample survey was carried out with the students who volunteered to show their level in relation to their geometric knowledge, thus identifying their difficulties and then looking for solutions to try to improve their learning.
