Objetiva-se, neste trabalho, apresentar a relação entre a virtude da justiça e o direito em Santo Tomás de Aquino, a partir, sobretudo, do estudo da Summa Theologiae, sem, no entanto, ignorar as demais obras em que Aquino aborda a justiça, tal como o comentário ao livro quinto da Ética Nicomaqueia de Aristóteles e o De Anima, obra em que Santo Tomás aborda a alma, ponto de onde partimos neste trabalho. Partese da abordagem do homem, enquanto ente complexo, composto de corpo e alma. Em um segundo momento, aborda-se a bem-aventurança enquanto fim último do ser racional, as paixões e as potências superiores (intelecção e volição). Na terceira etapa, clareia-se o que os assuntos abordados nas etapas anteriores têm a ver com a doutrina moral de Santo Tomás. Nela explanamos acerca das virtudes morais ou cardeais, a saber, temperança e fortaleza, que regulam as paixões e a prudência, virtude que Aquino designa como intelectual e moral ao mesmo tempo, que, em suma, consiste na reta razão do agir. Subsequentemente, atacamos o objetivo central do trabalho: a relação entre justiça, lei e direito. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Alma Humana. Virtude Moral. Justiça. Lei. Direito.

Objective, of this work, is present in the relationship between the virtue of justice and the law in St. Thomas Aquinas, where, above all, the study of the Summa Theologiae, without, however, ignore the other works in which Aquino approaches the justice, such as the comment to the fifth book of the Nicomachean Ethics of Aristotle and the De Anima, work wherein St. Thomas approaches the soul, point where we started this task. It starts with of man approach, while being complex, composed of body and soul. In a second moment, we discuss the blessedness while last end of the rational being, the passions and the higher powers (intellection and volition). In the third stage, observe that the matters discussed in the previous stages have to do with the moral doctrine of St. Thomas. It expounded about the moral or cardinal virtues, namely temperance and fortitude that govern the passions and the prudence, virtue that Aquino designates as intellectual and moral simultaneously, which, in sum, is the direct reason of the act.
