Nas sociedades capitalistas contemporâneas, o trabalho informal tomou grandes dimensões, adquirindo relevância social e simbólica na vida dos indivíduos pertencentes aos mais diversos grupos, segmentos e classes sociais. A pesquisa tem por base o diálogo com autores que discutem a territorialidade e a informalidade, considerando a ótica cultural de exclusão dos trabalhadores informais, principalmente aqueles ambulantes que trabalham de porta em porta, sem desconsiderar a dimensão de classe social. No estudo buscou-se apreender a territorialidade dos vendedores de redes, conhecer a relação do trabalho informal com a territorialidade, assim como traçar um perfil dos vendedores de redes da Rua Antônio Bento. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, de caráter qualitativo, no recorte espacial da Rua Antônio Bento, localizada no bairro do Itaperi, na cidade de Fortaleza. Como estratégia metodológica de abordagem, utilizou-se as técnicas de observação direta e o registro em diário de campo do cotidiano dos ambulantes estudados, além de entrevistas semiestruturadas com 37 ambulantes para um universo de 120 no total. Na interpretação dos dados da pesquisa, foi possível apreender que a informalidade, muitas vezes, não é retratada de forma clara pelos meios de comunicação e nem é vista pela própria população como uma forma de apropriação do espaço e da vida social. Percebeu-se que a territorialidade adquirida pelos ambulantes passou a assumir um lugar central em suas vidas, revelando-se em uniformidade na apropriação do espaço.
In contemporary capitalist societies, informal work has taken on dimensions that go beyond buying and selling relationships, gaining social and symbolic relevance in the lives of individuals belonging to the most diverse groups, segments and social classes. The research is based on the dialogue with authors who discuss the territoriality and informality considering a cultural perspective of exclusion of the informal workers, mainly those street vendors who work from door to door, without disregarding the social class dimension. The study sought to understand the territoriality of the hammock vendors, to know the relationship between informal work and territoriality, as well as to draw a profile of hammock vendors on Antônio Bento Street. For that, a qualitative, bibliographical and field research was carried out in the spatial area located on Antônio Bento Street in the Itaperi neighborhood, in the city of Fortaleza. As a methodological approach, techniques of direct observation and field diary were used to record the daily life of street vendors on Antônio Bento Street. In addition to that, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 37 itinerants for a universe of 120 in total. In the interpretation of the research data, it was possible to perceive that informality is often not clearly portrayed by the media and is not seen by the population itself as a form of appropriation of space and social life. It was observed that the territoriality acquired by the itinerants assumed a central place in their lives, revealing uniformity in the appropriation of space.
