RESUMO O estresse ocupacional é um fator importante a ser investigado, principalmente quando se trata do estresse docente, problema este que só aumenta. A justificativa deste trabalho está relacionada a investigação dos impactos do estresse docente, a insatisfação pessoal, queda do nível de produtividade e qualidade do ensino, o acú-mulo de funções, valorização do profissional, dentre outros fatores que possam gerar mais a insatisfação do professor. Com base na pesquisa quantitativa o objetivo deste artigo foi identificar os fatores de estresse dos professores universitários da rede pri-vada de ensino e analisar os impactos causados por estes. O estudo foi feito com quarenta professores do ensino superior privado da região metropolitana de Fortaleza. Os resultados mostraram que os principais fatores de estresse foram a postura dos alunos, como desatenção em sala de aula, sobrecarga de trabalho, exigências hierár-quicas e falta de apoio por parte das instituições e dos estudantes. Como forma de amenizar o estresse muitos optaram por praticar atividades físicas e opções de lazer. Foi sugerido que haja melhorais nas habilidades e competências dos professores, e que estes estressores possam ser investigados em diferentes regiões e situações. Palavras-chave: Docentes. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Occupational stress is an important factor to be investigated, especially when it comes to teacher stress, a problem that only increases. The rationale for this work is related to the investigation of the impacts of teaching stress, personal dissatisfaction, drop in productivity and quality of teaching, accumulation of functions, professional valuation, among other factors that may generate more teacher dissatisfaction. Based on the quantitative research, the objective of this article was to identify the stress factors of university teachers in the private teaching network and to analyze the impacts caused by them. The study was conducted with forty private higher education teachers from the metropolitan region of Fortaleza. The results showed that the main stressors were the students' posture, such as inattention in the classroom, work overload, hierarchical demands and lack of support from institutions and students. As a way of easing stress many opted to practice physical activities and leisure options. It has been suggested that there are improvements in the skills and competences of teachers, and that these stressors can be investigated in different regions and situations. Keywords: Teachers.
