A EXPERIÊNCIA DE CONSUMO COMPARTILHADO NA DINÂMICA ENTRE PAIS E FILHOS NO CONSUMO DE BRINQUEDOS À LUZ DA EXTENSÃO DE SELF E DO SELF-DEFICIT

RESUMO
O fulcro deste estudo consiste de uma análise qualitativa acerca da dinâmica no consumo de brinquedos realizada por pais e mães junto de seus filhos. A relevância desta investigação emergiu de perspectivas de consumo de produtos infantis ainda não abordadas, e da relação destas nuances com teorias de identidade e comportamento de consumo. Esta dinâmica, por sua vez, é pautada primariamente pelas teorias de extensão de self, self-deficit, e co-experiência, dentre outros conceitos secundários, como consumo adaptativo/compensatório, e consumo colaborativo. O assunto que se faz referência, à luz destas teorias, permitiu a elaboração de pressupostos, com os quais foram formados blocos de momentos referentes aos períodos da vida dos pais. Os momentos nos quais tiveram contato ou interesses em brinquedos são: i) a infância dos pais e dos filhos – extensão de self; ii) experiência de consumo compartilhado – nas teorias de co-experiência e consumo colaborativo, e analisando se tem-se uma rotina de consumo com local e frequência pré-definidos; e iii) forma de consumo – nas teorias de consumo compensatório/adaptativo, levando-se em consideração as instâncias do consumo em quantidade, especificidade e originalidade dos brinquedos favoritos. A proposta para investigação de campo foi embasada nestas categorias e em características situacionais apontadas pela literatura. Os resultados corroboraram os pressupostos e contribuíram ao nível do objetivo principal com a criação de um conglomerado de teorias onde estas se relacionam entre si e formam um composto teórico capaz de compreender o estudo desta pesquisa; outras contribuições incidiram individualmente em cada teoria, como: i) a de extensão de self, o indivíduo não precisa da posse imediata, bastando ter um julgamento formado acerca do brinquedo; ii) na teoria de self-deficit, as consequências de consumo compensatório e adaptativo podem ocorrer no mesmo indivíduo em momentos sequenciados, bem como a constatação de níveis de consumo em quantidade ocorre concomitante aos de especificidade e originalidade; iii) na teoria de co-experiência e consumo colaborativo evidenciou-se o aumento da frequência das brincadeiras no consumo do brinquedo favorito, dentro da fase de consumo compensatório, e de atividades com os filhos, na fase de consumo adaptativo, em relação ao que os pais tinham quando crianças. Propostas para estudos futuros incidem em tendências detectadas nos comportamentos que emergiram nos relatos, como: a investigação das nuances que levam a recompra de brinquedos; as vertentes que levam o indivíduo a dissonância cognitiva no consumo compensatório; a
capacidade de hereditariedade de interesses de consumo de brinquedos; e, até que ponto a negação de determinados brinquedos que, segundo os pais, incentivam a violência, podem realmente alimentar o interesse dos indivíduos em consumir, na maioridade, objetos reais que podem ser considerados armas.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT
The focus of this study is a qualitative analysis of the dynamics of toy consumption by parents with their children. The relevance of this research emerged from the perspectives of consumption of children's products not yet addressed, and from the relation of these nuances with theories of identity and consumer behavior. This dynamic is based primarily on theories of self-extension, self-deficit, and co-experience, among other secondary concepts, such as adaptive/compensatory consumption, and collaborative consumption. The subject referred to these theories supported the elaboration of assumptions, with blocks of moments formed by the periods of the parents' life. The moments in which they had contact or interests in toys are: i) the childhood of parents and children - self-extension; ii) shared consumption experience - in theories of coexistence and collaborative consumption, and analyzing whether there is a consumption routine with a pre-defined location and frequency; and iii) form of consumption - in theories of compensatory/adaptive consumption, taking into account the instances of consumption in quantity, specificity, and originality of favorite toys. The proposal was based on these categories and on situational characteristics pointed out in the literature. The results corroborated the assumptions and contributed to the objective of this study with the creation of a conglomerate of theories which are related to each other in order to elaborate assumptions that lead to understand this research; other contributions are individually focused on each theory, such as: (i) self-extension: the individual does not need immediate possession by just having an elaborated judgment about the toy; ii) theory of self-deficit: the consequences of compensatory and adaptive consumption can occur in the same individual in sequenced moments – the levels of consumption in quantity occurs concurrently with those of specificity and originality; (iii) theory of co-experience and collaborative consumption: there was an increase in the frequency of play in the consumption of the favorite toy during the compensatory consumption phase, and during the phase of adaptive consumption, the activities with the children while related to what the parents had as children. Proposals for future studies focus on trends detected in the behaviors that emerged in the reports, such as: the investigation of the nuances that lead to the repurchase of toys; the slopes that lead the individual to cognitive dissonance in compensatory consumption; the inheritance capacity of consumer interests of toys; and to what extent the denial of certain toys that parents
say encourage violence can really fuel the interest of individuals in consuming, in the majority, real objects that can be considered as weapons.
