A ATUAÇÃO DO INTÉRPRETE EDUCACIONAL DA LIBRAS NAS ESCOLAS DE ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL DE LIMOEIRO DO NORTE-CE

RESUMO
A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar a ação do Intérprete Educacional em uma cidade do interior do Ceará, a saber, Limoeiro do Norte. Os aspectos investigados compreenderam a sua formação, a forma contratual, sua função e papel no âmbito escolar. Para tanto, foram levantadas as seguintes questões norteadoras: Qual a sua formação? Como se dá a sua contratação? Quais as funções atribuídas ao IE? E qual o seu papel no âmbito escolar? Para chegarmos às respectivas respostas, realizamos uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa apresentando um caráter exploratório do tipo bibliográfico e investigativo, Estudo de Caso. Assim, atendendo ao seu delineamento, se estabeleceu um processo de coleta de dados bibliográfico e empírico, em que foram utilizados livros, artigos científicos, sítios eletrônicos e dados coletados por meio de questionários e entrevista semiestruturados. Após coleta dos dados emergiram quatro categorias de análise: Formação, Contratação, Função e Papel. A análise dessas categorias nos aponta que a formação acadêmica dos Intérpretes Educacionais de Limoeiro corresponde ao nível médio, e que sua formação específica se deu de forma empírica, tendo sido iniciada por meio do contato direto com a pessoa surda. Quanto à sua contratação, se deu em caráter temporário sem processo de seleção e averiguação de sua competência tradutório-interpretativa. Quanto à sua função, foi possível constatar que é designada de forma ainda confusa, não apresentando clareza na definição de suas designações funcionais não permitindo assim a sua delimitação. E por ultimo ao analisar a categoria Papel, encontramos uma grande variação, os quais ocasionam sobrecarga física e psicológica ao IE. Assim, concluímos que se faz urgente ao Intérprete Educacional que atua na cidade de Limoeiro do Norte que a Secretaria de Educação o compreenda como sendo parte integrante do processo de ensino e aprendizado das escolas de Ensino Fundamental que tem alunos surdos. E que há necessidade de se explorar por meio de mais pesquisas o trabalho do IE no interior de nosso Estado do Ceará e, a partir desta pesquisa, contribuir para o empoderamento da categoria e elucidação junto aos órgãos competentes, de suas reais designações e papéis no âmbito escola.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT
The following research aimed to investigate the work of Educational Interpreter in a town on the up-country area of Ceará, Limoeiro do Norte. The investigated aspects included their educational background, contractual form, and their roles on the educational environment. In order to achieve our goal, the following questions were asked: What is your educational background? What is the hiring process? What activities are given to the EI? What is their function and role in the educational environment? In order to get the respective answers, a qualitative research was carried out, with an exploratory character of the bibliographic and investigative type, a Case Study. Thus, based on its design, a bibliographic and empiric data collection process was established, in which books, scientific articles, electronic sites and data were collected through semi-structured questionnaires and interviews. After the data collection, four topic of analysis emerged: Background education, Hiring, Duties and Role. The analysis of these categories showed that the background academic education of the Educational Interpreters is high school and their specific training was empiric, being initiated by the direct contact with a deaf person. About the hiring process, it was made on a temporary basis without a selection process and verification of its translation-interpretative competence. About their function, it was possible to verify that it is still confused, not allowing clarity in the definition of its functional designations, thus not allowing its delimitation. Lastly, when analyzing the category Role, we found a great vary, which cause both physical and psychological overload to the EI. Thus were concluded that is urgent that the Secretary of Education of Limoeiro do Norte to comprise Educational Interpreters as an integral part of the teaching and learning process of the Elementary School with deaf students. It is also necessary to explore by means of more research the work of EI on the up-country area of Ceará and, from this, contribute for the empowerment of the category and elucidation with the competent agencies of their real designations and roles in the school environment.
