ABSTRACT
This study, entitled The harvest of the struggle: four windows for the knowledge built in the
work of the Union of Teachers of Crateús, seeks to filter, in the work of the professionals of
the municipal magisterium, the knowledge developed through the struggle perpetrated by this
category, educational political dimensions of the construction of the subjects in combatant,
avid and necessary defense of improvements in the teaching profession, in the working
conditions for the exercise of teaching, in pedagogical projects and, finally, in the quality of
emancipatory education, committed to the class worker. Research in the human and social
sciences has assumed an indispensable role, in a historical and social moment so exclusive of
humanity, in which the structural crisis of capital acts not only in the productive process and
consumption, but permeates all the subjective spaces of humanity, seeking to link subject to
full isolation and alienation, in order to guarantee exploitation and social control. It is with the
prospect of reviving subjective and humanitarian values as inviolable patrimony of beings,
spreading the emancipatory actions of social groups in full exercise of transformation of the
reality put, that this research is located, in order to contribute to the working class. The
theoretical-methodological perspective is based on the historical and dialectical materialism
of humanity. We find in the ethnography the necessary orientation to research the subjects
inserted in their social universe. In this, we choose the narrative as an element of resignification
of the group and individual experiences of the subjects, in order to understand
the meanings and learning that the social struggle writes in the formation of beings. We
highlight four subjects (two men and two women) to compose their narratives, having as
background the educational dimension of the struggle of the teachers of the municipal public
network of Crateús, acting through their Union, space that we call windows, where each one
allows us a look. In order to have a dialogue with the conceptions brought by the respondents,
we use the studies of MÉSZÁROS (2011), MARX (1975), FREIRE (1996; 1997), GENTILI
(2008), GOHN (2011), PIMENTA (2008), GIROUX (1997) AND NÒVOA (1992), among
others anchored in Marxist theory. We are sure that all scientific research aims, plans and
presupposes, but never closes or controls its unfolding, given the aspects of historicity that are
inherent to them, from which comes the unusual, the new that characterizes it in its social
development, by the development of the process creative work. The research proposed here is
of great interest to the teachers' collective, since we perceive the opportunity to multiply
actions, valorization of the struggle in collective actions, understanding, reflection and
improvement of the instruments of defense of the teaching profession, extended to the
working class because they are part of it, the diffusion and strengthening of the spaces, actions
and interventions of the struggle for a more just and egalitarian world through education.
