RESUMO Este trabalho teve como objetivo desenvolver um estudo de caso que foi analisado a partir de uma pesquisa qualiquantitativa, a respeito do uso do software educativo Tux of Math Command como apoio pedagógico ao ensino matemático. Tal pesquisa foi aplicada a uma turma de 4º ano do Ensino Fundamental da rede pública municipal de Limoeiro do Norte. Incialmente, foi feito um levantamento teórico de atividades educacionais desenvolvidas com o auxilio da Informática. A fundamentação teórica buscou embasar o trabalho em três partes: 1ª - O uso do software na educação brasileira; 2ª - O professor e o uso das tecnologias; 3ª - Abordagem do software educativo no ensino da Matemática. O procedimento metodológico se baseou na aplicação de atividades matemáticas a serem resolvidas pelos alunos tanto no modelo escrito quanto com o auxilio do software. No final de cada etapa de aplicação, ou seja, das duas realizadas, para o público-alvo foi aplicado um questionário a fim de coletar os dados para embasamento empírico com o intuito de ratificar os objetivos a serem alcançados. Por fim, concluiu-se que o software pode ser considerado um apoio pedagógico nas atividades matemáticas dando dinamismo e motivação aos alunos na resolução de situações problemas, e contribuindo de forma significativa no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Abstract:
ABSTRACT This work aimed to develop a case study that was parsed from a quantitative research concerning the use of educational software Tux of Math Command as pedagogical support to teaching math. Such research has been applied to a class of fourth grade of elementary school public municipal network of Limoeiro do Norte. Initially there was a theoretical survey of educational activities developed with the aid of information technology. The theoretical foundation sought to support the work in three parts: 1st-the use of the software in brazilian education; 2nd-the teacher and the use of technologies; 3rd-approach of the educational software in teaching mathematics. The methodological procedure based on application of math activities to be resolved by students in both the written and model with the help of the software. At the end of each stage of implementation, i.e. the two performed, for the target audience was applied a questionnaire in order to collect the data for empirical basis in order to ratify the goals to be achieved. Finally, it is concluded that the software can be considered a pedagogic support in math activities giving dynamism and motivation to students on solving problems, situations and contributing significantly in the teaching and learning process.
