Abstract:
ABSTRACT The large variability at ovulations moment results in the requirement of estrus synchronization protocols by hormone treatment, to the achievement of artificial insemination in fixed time (FTAI) be possible. The females delivery order (OP) cause divergences in the adoption of these protocols. Thus, the objective of the study was to evaluate the use of triptorelin acetate as an inducer of ovulation in primiparous and multiparous females to establish an artificial insemination protocol in fixed time for sows a core farm. The females were separated by lineage, by birth order and were divided into two treatments: The treatment with intrauterine insemination (IAU), which were submitted to a standard protocol of an artificial insemination (AI) and the treatment with the use of triptorelin acetate (AT), where the females were submitted to applications of 2 ml intravaginal AT after 96 hours from weaning and a IAU 22 hours (+/- 2 hours). The heat repetition rate was higher in the treatment with AT, the pregnancy rate was higher in females using the treatment with IAU, except in DB50 multiparous, where the values of the treatments were similar. The highest average coverage weaning interval (IDC) was observed in female of the male line and the female line using the AT protocol, The duration of the previous lactation (DLA) showed similar average in all treatments. The results of this research demonstrated that the use of that protocol using AT is not effective in farms with a lot of reposition, requiring further studies to make it more efficient and possible to be used in practice.
