RESUMO Embora tenham surgido muitos avanços em nossa sociedade, a violência doméstica contra a mulher é ainda um problema de grande dimensão que afeta o cotidiano de muitas mulheres. Desta feita, o objetivo dessa investigação foi analisar quais os significados atribuídos à violência por parte das mulheres atendidas no Centro de Referência e Atendimento a Mulher em Situação de Violência Francisca Clotilde (CRFC). Pretendeu-se, ainda: identificar a história de violência das mulheres entrevistadas, entender o processo de enfrentamento à violência e quais elementos influenciaram na construção dos significados de violência de cada uma das mulheres entrevistadas. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, teve como interlocutoras cinco mulheres atendidas pela Instituição citada. Assim, lançando mão das técnicas de entrevista do tipo semi-estruturada e observação participante, o trabalho de campo foi realizado no CRFC no período de maio a outubro de 2013. Pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo também foram realizadas neste período. Os resultados da pesquisa sinalizaram para os vários significados atribuídos a violência pelas mulheres entrevistadas, a permanência no ciclo da violência como possibilidade de preservar a relação, bem como a responsabilização de exercerem bem “os papeis sociais que lhe são impostos”, a insatisfação em relação a operacionalização de alguns equipamentos da rede de enfrentamento a violência, e identificamos ainda a importância da família, do amor, da religiosidade e a necessidade da construção de casas de passagem para mulheres. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Although has emerged many advances in our society, the domestic violence against the women continue to be a huge problem that affect the daily of many women. Hereupon, the object of this study was analyze which meanings were attributed to violence by the women attend in the Reference Center and Assistance to Women in Situations of Violence Clotilde Francisca (CRFC). It was intended too: identify the history of violence from the women interviewed, understand the process to coping the violence and which elements had influence in the construction of the meaning from violence for each one of those women. The research, with the quantitative nature, had five interviewees attended in the CRFC. Thus, using the techniques of the semi-structured interview and observation of the participant, this fieldwork was conducted in the CRFC in the period of May to October 2013. Bibliographic, documentary and field research were made in the same period. The survey results showed the many meanings attributed to violence by the women interviewed, the remaining in the cycle of violence as a possibility to preserve the relationship, and accountability to exercise good "social roles that are imposed," dissatisfaction with the operation of certain equipment of coping network violence, and even identified the importance of family, love, religion and the need of building homes for women.
