Bullying na Escola: Percepcoes e Sentimentos de Escolares e Educadores

Resumo:
O bullying manifesta-se por meio de um conjunto de comportamentos agressivos, intencionais e repetitivos que ocorrem sem motivação evidente, de forma velada ou explícita, acarretando prejuízos à formação psicológica, emocional e socioeducacional dos envolvidos (FANTE, 2005). Desta forma, destaca-se como sério problema de saúde pública. O estudo buscou analisar o fenômeno bullying em escola pública de Fortaleza-Ceará, Brasil. Para isso, realizou-se estudo descritivo, de natureza quali-quantitativa. Utilizaram-se como técnicas de coleta de dados o questionário para caracterização dos escolares e do fenômeno na escola em estudo, a entrevista semiestruturada e a observação sistemática, tendo como participantes 139 escolares na primeira fase da pesquisa e na segunda etapa participaram 22 escolares e 10 educadores. A coleta das informações ocorreu de julho a setembro de 2012. Os dados quantitativos, oriundos do questionário, sofreram pré-codificação e foram armazenados e analisados por meio do programa SPSS (versão 17.0). Os dados qualitativos foram analisados de acordo com a técnica de análise de conteúdo e discutidos com base no referencial teórico. Os resultados revelaram a ocorrência de comportamentos de bullying entre os estudantes, admitidos como natural por escolares e educadores. Os comportamentos na percepção dos alunos eram frequentemente ignorados por professores. Os estudantes identificados como alvos de bullying relataram não receber apoio dos pais e educadores para cessar ou reagir às intimidações. Os docentes possuíam conhecimento sobre o fenômeno, porém, detectou-se a dificuldade que a maioria apresentava para intervir e encaminhar adequadamente os casos de bullying, fazendo com que estes adotassem posturas passivas e em algumas situações agressivas. As ações de enfrentamento do bullying, na opinião de escolares e educadores, devem envolver pais e professores e promover debates permanentes na escola que visem conscientização dos envolvidos, além de explicitar valores fundamentais de respeito, solidariedade e amor. Para o enfrentamento do bullying em instituições de ensino torna-se necessário ampliar as discussões sobre o fenômeno, envolvendo pais, alunos, professores e funcionários, a fim de que a participação de todos possa contribuir de forma efetiva com medidas que visem a prevenção e combate ao bullying entre estudantes.

Abstract:
Bullying manifests itself through a series of aggressive, intentional and repetitive behaviors that happen for no evident reason, hidden or wide open, causing damages to the psychological, emotional and socio-education formation of those involved. Thus, it becomes a serious public health problem. This study aimed to analyze the phenomenon of bullying in a public school in Fortaleza-Ceará, Brazil. A descriptive study with qualitative and quantitative approach was carried out. For data collection we used a questionnaire for the characterization of the students and the phenomenon of bullying in the school studied, semi-structured interview and systematic observation. The participants were 139 students in the first phase of the research and the second stage involved 22 students and 10 and teachers. Data collection happened from July to September 2012. Quantitative data derived from the questionnaire suffered pre-codification and were stored and analyzed using SPSS (version 17.0). Data were analyzed according to thematic category analysis technique and discussed based on the theoretical reference. The results revealed the occurrence of bullying behavior among students, accepted as natural for students and teachers. In students' perceptions, the behaviors were often ignored by teachers. Students identified as targets of bullying reported not receiving support from parents and teachers to react or stop intimidations. The teachers knew about the phenomenon, however we verified the difficulty that most had to intervene and appropriately refer the cases of bullying, causing them to adopt attitudes of agreement with the passivity or consequent aggressiveness. In the opinion of students and educators, the actions of facing bullying must involve parents and teachers and promote ongoing discussions at school seeking the awareness of those involved, besides explaining fundamental values of respect, solidarity and love. To deal with bullying in educational institutions, it is necessary to broaden the discussion on the phenomenon, involving parents, students, teachers and employees, so that everyone's participation may contribute effectively with measures to prevent and fight bullying among students.
