Resumo:
Esse trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar e compreender numa perspectiva geográfica as transformações do espaço urbano na cidade de Redenção no estado do Ceará, a partir da instalação da Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira (UNILAB), que possui a premissa de integrar as nações que compõem a Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP), composta de Angola, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Moçambique, Portugal, São Tomé e Príncipe, Timor-Leste e Brasil, sendo a cidade de Redenção à sede dessa nova instituição de ensino superior, que vem se juntar a Universidade Federal da Integração Latino- Americana (UNILA) iniciando a criação de universidades temáticas pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC). O principal intuito dessa pesquisa é compreender as mudanças já ocorridas em Redenção e as expectativas futuras para essa cidade em relação ao seu crescimento urbano, influenciados pela UNILAB, enquanto agente na dinâmica espacial. Redenção foi escolhida como sede desse empreendimento pela sua ligação com a escravatura brasileira, pois é considerada oficialmente a primeira cidade do país a libertar seus escravos, fato ocorrido em 1883, antes da abolição no país ocorrida em 1888. A UNILAB já se encontra em funcionamento, com os cursos de Agronomia, Administração Pública, Ciências da Natureza e Matemática, Enfermagem, Engenharia de Energias Renováveis, Letras e Bacharelado em Ciências Humanas que envolvem conhecimentos da Antropologia, História, Sociologia, Pedagogia e uma especialização em Gestão Governamental, localizadas no Campus da Liberdade, antiga sede da prefeitura da cidade, já estando em fase de construção o Campus das Auroras, sede definitiva da instituição. Alguns questionamentos foram feitos no transcorrer dessa pesquisa; relacionados aos investimentos que estão ocorrendo na cidade, se o projeto educacional beneficia a população local e se as transformações de fato estão modificando o espaço urbano em Redenção, pois se trata aqui de analisar da construção de um novo sujeito coletivo do desenvolvimento, que é a educação, que vem sendo implantada em Redenção através da UNILAB.
This work aims to analyze and understand in a geographical perspective the transformations of urban space of Redenção city in the state of Ceará, from the facility of the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophone (UNILAB), which has the premise of integrating nations that make up the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), composed of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, East-Timor and Brazil, being the town of Redenção the seat of this new higher education institution, which joins the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) initiating the creation of thematic Universities by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The main aim of this research is to interpret the changes that have occurred in Redenção and future expectations for this city in relation to its urban growth, influenced by UNILAB, as an agent in the spatial dynamics, this city being chosen for this project due to its link with slavery in Brazil, since it is considered the first city in the country that freed his slaves in 1883, before its abolition in the country in 1888. The UNILAB is already in operation, with courses in Agronomy, Administration, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Nursing, Renewable Energy Engineering, Languages and Bachelor of Arts and Sciences that involve knowledge of Anthropology, History, Sociology, Pedagogy and a specialization on Government Management, located in Liberdade Campus, the old seat of town hall of the city, being already under construction the Campus Aurora, seat of the institution. Some inquiries were made in the course of this research, related to investments that are happening in the city, if the educational project benefits the local population and if the changes are actually modifying the urban space in Redenção, because here it deals with the analyze of the construction of a new collective subject of development, which is the education, which has been implemented in Redenção by UNILAB.
