A presente tese traz um estudo sobre os brasões que compõem a heráldica de domínio municipal cearense, partindo de um estudo teórico sobre os conceitos da ciência heráldica, e de forma mais detalhada da heráldica de domínio municipal, a partir da análise dos quatro principais componentes: escudo, coroa mural, listel e apoio. Temos como objetivo geral um estudo quali-quantitativo e de forma interdisciplinar sobre a heráldica de domínio municipal no estado do Ceará através de um panorama geral sobre os cento e oitenta e quatro brasões de todos os municípios cearenses e, de forma individualizada, os vinte e um brasões municipais cearenses das regiões do Vale do Jaguaribe e Litoral Leste, um tema ainda pouco explorado academicamente no Brasil, e para isso contamos com um aporte teórico ancorado nos estudos de Pereyra (1933), Poliano (1986), Santos (1978) Tostes (1983) e no contato direto com o especialista em heráldica de domínio municipal no Brasil Santiago Andrade, em diálogo interdisciplinar com o conceito de cultura idealista de Geertz (2008). Nossa análise está dividida em dois momentos: no primeiro há um estudo heráldico quantitativo sobre os cento e oitenta e quatro brasões municipais cearenses, que visa traçar um panorama sobre o assunto no Ceará, enquanto no segundo momento de análise, de viés qualitativo, os aspectos culturais e sociais dialogaram com os conceitos heráldicos em estudos individualizados dos vinte e um brasões das regiões do Vale do Jaguaribe e Litoral Leste, que culminou com sugestões de revitalização para os brasões de Limoeiro do Norte e Russas. A partir destes dois momentos analíticos podemos constatar as características gerais da heráldica de domínio municipal do Ceará através de nossa análise quantitativa e conhecermos de forma individualizada os aspectos heráldicos, culturais e sociais das vinte e uma cidades do Vale do Jaguaribe e Litoral Leste por meio de nossa análise qualitativa. Estes dois momentos analíticos nos fizeram perceber a negligência com a qual os brasões municipais são tratados, sem que haja, na grande maioria dos casos, o devido respeito aos preceitos e às normas da ciência heráldica.
Abstract:
This thesis presents a study on coats of arms arms that make up the heraldry of the municipal domain of Ceará starting from a theoretical study on the concepts of heraldic science. Then, in a more detailed way, the study explores the heraldry of the municipal domain through the analysis of the four main components of coats of arms: shield, mural crown, listel and support. Our main objective is a quantitative and qualitative study in an interdisciplinary way on heraldry of municipal domain in the state of Ceará through a general overview of the one hundred and eighty-four coats of arms of all municipalities in Ceará and, individually, the twenty-one municipal coats of arms of Ceará from the regions of Vale do Jaguaribe and Litoral Leste, a topic still little explored by academic researchers in Brazil. The basis of the thesis relies on a theoretical contribution anchored in the studies of Pereyra (1933), Poliano (1986), Santos (1978) Tostes (1983) and in the direct contact with the specialist in heraldry of the municipal domain in Brazil Santiago Andrade, in an interdisciplinary dialogue with the concept of idealist culture of Geertz (2008). Our analysis is divided into two parts: the first is a quantitative heraldic study of the one hundred and eighty-four municipal coats of arms of Ceará, which aims to outline an overview of the subject in Ceará, while the second part is focused on a qualitative analysis that proposes a dialogue between the cultural and social aspects and the heraldic concepts in individualized studies of the twenty-one coats of arms of the regions of Vale do Jaguaribe and Litoral Leste, which will result in suggestions for revitalizing the coats of arms of the cities of Limoeiro do Norte and Russas. Considering these two analytical parts, we can verify the general aspects of the heraldry of the municipal domain of Ceará through our quantitative analysis and learn about the heraldic, cultural and social aspects of the twenty-one cities of Vale do Jaguaribe and Litoral Leste in an individualized way through our qualitative analysis. These two analytical parts made us realize the negligence with which the municipal coats of arms are treated, without, in the vast majority of cases, due respect for the precepts and norms of heraldic science.
