O estudo centra-se na vida de Luiza de Teodoro Vieira, uma mulher negra educadora cearense que exerceu atividades ligadas à educação desde os 15 anos – como professora dos ensinos primário, secundário e superior, escritora de materiais didáticos e assessora técnica da Secretaria de Educação do Ceará. Objetivou-se biografar Luiza de Teodoro Vieira, destacando como suas representações relacionam-se à sua trajetória formativa e à constituição docente, entre 1960 e 1995. Ancorou-se teoricamente na Nova História Cultural e nos pressupostos da Biografia Hermenêutica e metodologicamente na História Oral, a partir da qual se coletaram entrevistas livres com 11 colaboradores. Entrecruzarem-se as narrativas a fontes documentais, como fotografias, livros e entrevistas autobiográficas concedidas ainda em vida por Luiza de Teodoro, publicadas no Núcleo de Documentação do Departamento de História da Universidade Estadual do Ceará, no livro Ser professor no Brasil, de Selva Guimarães Fonseca (1997), e na Revista Entrevista (1993). Os resultados inferem que Luiza de Teodoro contou com trajetória formativa diferenciada daquela percorrida por outras mulheres cearenses de seu tempo, que, em sua maioria, sequer contaram com a oportunidade de acessar um ambiente formal de educação, seja porque precisavam trabalhar, seja porque não havia escola no entorno de onde moravam. A biografada, contudo, embora tenha iniciado a formação educacional em casa, com o pai, por residir no Centro de Fortaleza, pôde frequentar instituições educativas desse lugar, o Grupo Escolar José de Alencar e a Escola Normal Justiniano de Serpa, que eram mais prestigiadas do que aquelas de outras regiões. A atuação docente iniciou logo após a formação no Ensino Normal, que a habilitou para lecionar no Primeiro Grau, exercício conciliado com os estudos em nível superior, no curso de História e Geografia na Faculdade Católica de Filosofia dos Irmãos Maristas, que depois passou a integrar a Universidade Estadual do Ceará. Foi professora do curso de História da Universidade Estadual do Ceará e da Universidade Federal do Ceará e nesta última constituiu o grupo “Os internos do pátio”, mediante o qual reunia alunos para partilhar experiências artísticas, produções escritas e experiências de vida, primeiro no pátio da Universidade Federal do Ceará e depois na casa de Luiza, onde aconteceram encontros até o final de sua vida. Como mulher negra, lidou com significações particulares atinentes à autoestima, afetividade, crenças, motivações e ação como sujeito no âmbito social; como intelectual, foi reconhecida socialmente em Fortaleza, onde, em 2011, foi premiada com o Troféu Paulo Petrola e, em 2016, com a Medalha da Abolição. Até os dias atuais, possui visibilidade na história do Ceará por ter sido militante em movimentos sociais e populares, principalmente durante a ditadura militar. Conclui-se que a constituição das representações de Luiza de Teodoro, como mulher negra, professora, intelectual e militante, contribuíram para a gênese de um perfil docente de referência, que, além de ser admirado e idealizado, influenciou ativamente o tecido social, educacional e político de Fortaleza durante a demarcação temporal analisada.
Abstract:
The study focuses on Luiza de Teodoro Vieira's life, a black woman and educator from Ceara who has worked in education-related activities since the age of 15 - as a teacher of primary, secondary and higher education, as writer of didactic materials and technical advisor to the Department of Education of Ceara. The objective of the study was to biography Luiza de Teodoro Vieira, highlighting how her representations are related to her formative trajectory and to the teaching constitution, between 1960 and 1995. It was theoretically anchored in the New Cultural History and in the assumptions of Hermeneutical Biography and methodologically in Oral History, from which spontaneous interviews were collected with 11 collaborators. Intertwining the narratives with documentary sources, such as photographs, books and autobiographical interviews granted by Luiza de Teodoro while she was still alive, published in the Documentation center of the Department of History of the State University of Ceara, in the book Being a teacher in Brasil, by Selva Guimarães Fonseca (1997), and in the Interview Magazine (1993). The results imply that Luiza de Teodoro had a different formative trajectory from other women from Ceara of her time, who, for the most part, did not even have the opportunity to access a formal education environment, either because they needed to work or there were not schools near where they lived. Luiza de Teodoro, however, although she started her educational training at home, with her father, as she lived in the Center of Fortaleza, she was able to attend educational institutions in that place, the José de Alencar School Group, and the Justiniano de Serpa Normal School, which were more prestigious than those in other regions. Her teaching practice began shortly after her training in Normal Education, which enabled her to teach in the First Degree, an exercise reconciled with her studies at a higher level, in the History and Geography course at the Catholic Faculty of Philosophy of the Marist Brothers, which later became part of the State University of Ceara. She was a professor of History at the State University of Ceara and at the Federal University of Ceara and in this last one she formed the group “The interns of the courtyard”, through which she brought together students to share artistic experiences, written productions, and life experiences, first in the courtyard of the Federal University of Ceara and afterwards at Luiza's house, where meetings took place until the end of her life. As a black woman, she dealt with particular meanings related to self-esteem, affectivity, beliefs, motivations and action as a subject in the social sphere; as an intellectual, she was socially recognized in Fortaleza, where, in 2011, she was awarded the Paulo Petrola Trophy and, in 2016, the Abolition Medal. Until the present day, she has visibility in the history of Ceara for having been militant in social and popular movements, especially during the military dictatorship. In conclusion the constitution of Luiza de Teodoro's representations, as a black woman, teacher, intellectual and activist, contributed to the creation of a reference teaching profile, which, beyond to being admired and idealized, she actively influenced the social, educational and politics of Fortaleza during the temporal demarcation analyzed.
