A educação de Maria Lilian Teixeira: Da infância no lixão ao ensino superior (1984-2014)

Esta pesquisa inter-relaciona duas áreas coexistentes – a História e a Educação –, inserindo-se no campo da História da Educação para constituir a narrativa biográfica de Maria Lilian Teixeira. A pesquisa versa sobre a biografia de Lilian Teixeira, com ênfase no contexto educacional por ela vivenciado. Ela foi uma criança pobre, que sofreu o trabalho infantil no lixão, contudo conseguiu tornar-se uma mulher reconhecida por seu trabalho social de cunho educativo dentro do cenário adverso de vida dos catadores de lixo. Objetiva-se compreender as estratégias de superação vivenciadas no percurso educacional e na atuação formativa de Lilian Teixeira que lhe possibilitaram sair do trabalho infantil no lixão e ingressar em um curso de ensino superior. O recorte temporal aqui delimitado inicia-se com a chegada de Lilian Teixeira ao Jangurussu e início de sua escolarização na Escola Padre Fred, em 1984, e vai até 2014, por ser o ano de seu ingresso no ensino superior para cursar Serviço Social. O arcabouço teórico ampara-se nos conceitos de Nova História Cultural, de Biografia, de Micro-História, dentre outros. Opta-se pelo uso da História Oral como metodologia junto ao gênero biográfico, pois acredita-se que, mediante a
pesquisa biográfica, é possível conhecer, registrar e constituir a história de Lilian Teixeira. Para a coleta de dados, recorre-se à História Oral, entrecruzada com fontes documentais. Os resultados apontaram que Lilian Teixeira nasceu, cresceu, casou-se e teve filhos em meio ao ambiente do conhecido Lixão do Jangurussu. Sofreu trabalho infantil no Lixão do Jangurussu quando teve que, juntamente com seu irmão, buscar uma forma de sustento para a família. Lilian Teixeira iniciou os estudos por volta dos 4 anos de idade na Escola Padre Fred,
onde permaneceu até a 3ª série, quando resolveu abandonar a escola para trabalhar em casa de família. Em seguida, retomou os estudos, dessa vez na Escola Melo Jaborandi, onde permaneceu até o início da 8ª série, quando engravidou, em 1998. Após sua primeira gestação, Lilian Teixeira voltou a estudar e concluiu a 8ª séria na Escola Taís Maria Nogueira, em 2001. No mesmo ano, já casada e com filhos, iniciou o ensino médio, na modalidade Tempo de Avançar, no Colégio Paulo Benevides, e o concluiu no Colégio Aloysio Barros Leal. Lilian Teixeira iniciou o trabalho em uma cooperativa do Jangurussu aos 18 anos. Participou de alguns projetos e, de 2012 a 2014, fez parte do Centro Nacional de Defesa de Direitos Humanos da População em Situação de Rua e Catadores de Materiais Recicláveis. No mesmo ano, fez vestibular para o curso de Pedagogia, mas não ingressou por conta do trabalho. Com o fim do projeto, resolveu tentar um novo vestibular, dessa vez para o curso de Serviço Social. Obteve aprovação em 2014, mas ainda não conseguiu concluir o curso. Problemas como pânico e
ansiedade, somados com várias atribuições e com o período de pandemia de coronavírus vivenciado, dificultaram a conclusão do curso. Lilian Teixeira, em 2017, assumiu como presidente da Rede de Catadores(as) de Resíduos Sólidos Recicláveis do Estado do Ceará. Sua gestão foi até 2021.
Abstract:
This research interrelates two coexisting areas – History and Education -, in the field of The History of Education to constitute the biographical narrative of Maria Lilian Teixeira. The research deals with the biography of Lilian Teixeira, with emphasis on the educational context experienced by her. She was a poor child who suffered child labor in the dump, however, she managed to become a
woman recognized for her educational social work within the adverse life scenario of garbage pickers. The objective is to understand the overcoming strategies experienced in the educational and formative performance of Lilian Teixeira that allowed him to get out of child labor in the dump and enter a higher education course. The time frame delimited here begins with the arrival of Lilian Teixeira to Jangurussu and the beginning of her schooling at Padre Fred School in 1984, and goes until 2014, because it is the year of her entry into higher education to attend Social Work. The theoretical framework is based on the concepts of New Cultural History, Biography, Microhistory, among others. It is chosen for the use of Oral History as a methodology with the biographical genre, because it is believed that, through biographical research, it is possible to know, record and constitute the story of Lilian Teixeira. For data collection,
Oral History is used, cross-sectioned with documentary sources. The results showed that Lilian Teixeira was born, grew up, married and had children in the environment of the well-known Jangurussu Dump. She suffered child labor at the Jangurussu Dump when she had to, along with her brother, seek a form of sustenance for the family. Lilian Teixeira began her studies around the age of 4 at Padre Fred School, where she remained until the 3rd grade, when she decided to drop out of school to work in a family home. She then resumed her
studies, this time at the Melo Jaborandi School, where she remained until the beginning of the 8th grade, when she became pregnant in 1998. After her first pregnancy, Lilian Teixeira returned to school and completed the 8th grade at the Taís Maria Nogueira School in 2001. In the same year, already married and with children, she started high school, in the way Tempo de Avançar, at Colégio Paulo Benevides, and concluded it at Colégio Aloysio Barros Leal. Lilian Teixeira started working in a Jangurussu cooperative at the age of 18. She participated in some projects and, from 2012 to 2014, was part of the National Center for the Defense of Human Rights of the Homeless and Recyclable
Material Pickers. In the same year, she took the entrance exam for Pedagogy, but did not enter because of her work. With the end of the project, decided to try a new entrance exam, this time for the Course of Social Work. She was approved in 2014, but has not yet been able to complete the course. Problems such as panic and anxiety, combined with various attributions and with the period of pandemic coronavirus experienced, made it difficult to complete the course. Lilian Teixeira, in 2017, took over as president of the Network of Waste
Pickers of Recyclable Solid Waste of the State of Ceará. Her management was until 2021.
