Formação do professor. Aula de Campo.
Abstract:
ABSTRACT What would the Geographical Science be without a relationship between theory and practice, without the ―hands-on‖ contact with its object of study, the field? Would there be any satisfactory profit in there? How could a teacher conduct the discipline of Geography in a meaningful way to his students, if the teacher himself had almost no practical experience during his educational training years? Understanding that the connections between theory and practice are fundamental to the Geographical Science, this research was developed intending to analyze the relevance of the field classes in the training process of Geography Teachers. In order to achieve this goal, we have organized relevant conceptual studies regarding the importance of field experience as a didactical and pedagogical tool. Also institutional and normative documents were consulted, and a survey using questionnaires was conducted with students and teachers at the Faculty of Geography of Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE), aiming to know their personal opinions regarding the relevancy of field classes in the training process of a Geography Teacher. The conclusion was that it is not possible to provide training in Geography without practical experience and ―hands-on‖ contact in the field. Also, that those classes are rich moments which provide the enlargement of the educational spectrum and the comprehension of the Geographical space in all its complexity. Keywords: Geography Teaching. Teacher Training. Field Class.
